I’ve been traveling on this road so long.
Walking out of darkness towards the dawn.
In my haze I ponder where I’ve been.
Taken prisoner from demons within.
But to you I’m coming home.
I’ll reclaim the soul I sold.
I thought I was fighting for what’s right.
Bewildered by the light that made me blind.
I know you wrote me off and so did I.
As you sleep I walk the lonely night.
Cause to you I’m coming home.
I’ll reclaim the soul I sold.
If it takes me my whole life
I will look you in the eyes.
I’m coming home.

Baby girl you are my world and I love you so
You cry all night and you sleep day don’t you know
It’s gonna be okay
I’m here for you when you’ve lost your way
It’s all okay
You’re my baby girl
I spend all day trying make you laugh
It leads me down a pretty silly path
But you when you do
It’s like the sun is finally rising
It’s all for you
You're my baby girl
Joanna Rose
Five years old now your making your own path
You show us all how to live and love and laugh
The way you see the world
It’s like the sun is always shining
The way you dance and twirl
You're my baby girl
Joanna Rose
And there’ll be days
When it’s hard to try
I will do my best to be your side
And there’ll be days
When you will fly
And I will watch you as you glide
One day soon you will want to be on your way
I’ll let you go but I’ll wish that you would stay
You can come on home
Whenever you might feel alone
You’re not alone
You’re my baby girl

In The Dark
03:43
|
|||
In the dark when no ones looking
You let your demons come out lurking
I can’t believe that you are letting me see
In the dark I start to listen when your
Darkest dreams they start to glisten
I think I will follow your light
Into the night
Your smile has a way of melting my inhibitions, baby
You grab the keys, and I’ll grab the ammunition
Let’s Leave em a note, let em know we aint comin back
Put the money in the bag
We’re going down, all the way
We’re going down, all the way
We’re going down, all the way
We’re going down, we’re going down into this night
We’re getting famous got our names in the papers baby
Hands on the ground, don’t make me repeat it
We’ve bled this town dry now it’s time to get back on the fly
The law they keep on coming but they’re making easy targets
What you talked me into has become my only purpose
The devils on my shoulder and he’s having himself a ball
Watch us take it all
We’re going down, all the way
We’re going down, all the way
We’re going down, all the way
We’re going down, we’re going down into this night
We never saw it coming, guns drawn, stick ‘em up now
Hurry up and run, oh baby don’t lose me now
You caught one in the chest and I drag you to the car that’s running
But now you’re in the dark
Don’t slow down hit the gas I gotta keep it going
They’re catching up with the sirens blowing
Don’t look down at the mess, I’ll feel the pain
I can’t throw it all away
I’m going down, all the way
I’m going down, all the way
I’m going down, all the way
I’m going down, down into this night
Not without a fight
Bury you tonight

When I left New Jersey
You were fighting for your life.
Operating table
As I took off in the night.
Please fasten your seatbelts
Would you like a drink?
These words they have no meaning
Yet still they seem to speak.
Before I left New Jersey
Deciding what to pack
What am I going out for?
Should I bring funeral black?
Back home in New Jersey
After you woke up
I still mourn my brother.
Who did we become?

All of My Days
05:52
|
|||
Early morning I can’t hear a sound
The sky is dark
The house is sleeping
I don’t mind that I’m the only one
Waking alone
It’s my safe keeping
In these moments I try to forget
All of the mess
And all of the weeping
But I can’t help but walk the thinnest line
It’s deep in my chest
The good and bad feelings
But the sun is coming out
And the day is getting loud
It’s a sound I’ll keep with me
All of my days
One more minute til I’m moving fast
I’ll pick up the pace
There’s no time to waste
Maybe if I rush right through these hours
I won’t feel the weight
Of my own expectations
Putting on my heavy coat of arms
Steeling myself
Put my heart on the shelf
I need to pretend I’m strong like this
I do it for them
I try to mend
And the sun is coming out
And the day is getting loud
It’s a sound I’ll keep with me
All of my days

The Same
04:32
|
|||
I’ve been hearing whispers in the dark
Constantly reminding me that we’re swimming with sharks.
Are we insurrectionists at heart?
Tearing down what others built, and making it an art.
It’s all the same.
How’d we ever let it get this far?
Feed us lies with a side of fries til our stomachs burst apart.
Hang em high and shoot em, that’s a start.
Drive on down to Any Town and try to look the part.
It’s all the same.
How are you gonna tell me that the words you spit on TV are making any difference when there’s water all around me.
It’s the same.
We’re all to blame.
Looking back is now called looking on.
They won’t find a peace of mind until their threat is gone.
Birds of prey have swooped on us with ease.
Exploit us til we’re rotten and then find a new disease.
It’s all the same.
How are you gonna stand there, straight-faced, tell us you’re abiding
By all the laws you claim to love
When you know we know you’re lying
It’s the same.
We’re all to blame
I don’t want to sing it loud
I don’t want to make you proud
I just want out of this goddamn town
where everything’s the same.
Nothing here will change.
How are you gonna tell me that the walls you build around me will make us any safer when they’re just keeping in the enemy.
It’s the same.
We’re all to blame

Just this once I wanna waste these hours
Take the time be with you
Answer all your silly questions and hear
Your laughter and stories too
Leave behind all the things I know
Take your hand and tell the truth
These days pass, they’re going way too fast
Want to freeze this time with you
So here we go
Take your time
You’ll be fine
The edge is high
But you are strong
And I’ll come along
Let’s decide to take a day to hide
Come and take a ride with me
Leave behind all these endless fines
Come and walk along with me
Let’s get lost in a mess of trees
Swim away from all we know
Just one day to pretend we’re free
From this endless heavy show
So here we go
Take your time
You’ll be fine
The edge is high
But you are strong
And I’ll come along

I never cared about tomorrow
I never dreamed that it could be two years away
Now I’m staring at the walls again
Thinking about better days
We used to ride down to the lighthouse
We used to laugh as that old tide washed us away
Sipping wine under that summer sky
Oh how I long for those days
Natalie, oh Natalie
How do we get there, tell me when can we get back to those days,
Oh Natalie, let’s get carried away
So much for the lonesome dancers
They never seemed to follow us down to our cape
Playing skee ball while the sun sets slow
Getting lost in the waves
Natalie, oh Natalie
How do we get there, tell me when can we get back to those days,
Oh Natalie, let’s get carried away
I remember that summer sun
Not counting on anyone
I remember laughing in the rain
I remember the summer sea
Not counting on anything
Just you and me
Natalie, oh Natalie
How do we get there, tell me when can we get back to those days,
Oh Natalie, let’s get carried away

Lines, on this map we’re drawing.
And all of the roads leading to you.
Help, when you heard us calling.
No matter the weather, you always came through.
Now, as the end is nearing,
let the stories and laughter surround you in sleep.
We’re here, in this room beside you.
Won’t leave til you get where you need to be.
Some might say, that the good men went away.
And everyone is in it for themselves.
You proved them wrong, every day you lived your life.
A gentle man who loved his gentle wife, til the end.
Scenes, on the slideshow scrolling.
Reliving the memories we’ll always hold dear.
Go, knowing you’re our North Star.
We’ll look to you shining, overhead, near.
Some might say, that the good men went away.
And everyone is in it for themselves.
You proved them wrong, every day you lived your life.
A gentle man who loved his gentle wife.
You were the richest man in what matters in the end.

Last Year
08:29
|
|||
Silent screams still echo down white halls that we roamed where we lost all sense of time.
One second, one lifetime, one family, no goodbye. And for what? What, for a lie?
There are monsters, they’re lurking in plain sight, usurping. They’ll take this and burn it down.
Close the door, let’s hideout, stay quiet, and forget how we used to live, those days are gone.
And now you’re so far gone
I hope it terrifies you.
And you’ve been on the run,
We chase but cannot find you.
Will you come back to us,
Or will we have to make do?
Where do we go from here?
I haven't said your name since last year.
In cold soup, spoon spinning, your blank stare, repeating, those last words still go unsaid.
This old book that I made, some pages, like us frayed. No answers, just questions whispered in the dark.
And now you’re so far gone
I hope it terrifies you.
And you’ve been on the run,
We chase but cannot find you.
Will you come back to us,
Or will we have to make do?
Where do we go from here?
I haven't said your name since last year.
